A genuine rest day with little planned. We had some things to organise, and wanted to rest and keep the walking to a minimum.

It was a cold day, but pleasant if you stayed in the sun. We had breakfast near the tourist information office where we got a stamp for our nearly complete but very battered passports.

Viterbo seems a good base for sightseeing and has many nice churches within the walls, but many of the sights are a bus ride away so we gave them a miss.

To be fair, Viterbo has lots of attractive streets and churches, but we've just seen so many now that we don't pay them the attention they deserve.

We had a light lunch in a square and an early supper in a pizzeria.

Il Palazzetto - Viterbo

A comfortable and warm apartment with decent connectivity. This makes a pleasant change - typically the old buildings we stay in have walls built to withstand a siege and mobile signals. The apartment also has lots of space and is near to many small shops and restaurants.
