Not so bad
We arranged an early breakfast as today was going to be a long walk on a hot day. We said goodbye to Josephine and set off at 8.30.

Our route was mostly on road and started along the pretty valley of the river Brauze. The houses are all built in the same yellow stone and it was reminiscent of the Cotswolds.
Today's date: 6.7.20
Weather: sunny and warm
Steps: 48,600
Distance: 37.62 km
Climbing: 352 m
We had an early lunch in Bricon - it was nothing special but it is so rare to find a place open that we couldn't resist.
After Bricon the countryside changed and became much more open and flatter. There must be an airbase near as there were a number of low-flying planes. There were a lot of crosses by the road today.
We rested in Richebourg for an hour mid-afternoon as this is the hottest part of the day. We walked on through a forest then up and out of the valley and descended into Leffonds and Villiers across open farmland.
There really were lots of crosses.
Today was hot - it was still possible to leave your footprint in the tarmac at 7.30pm. We paced ourselves well and had plenty of water so it was not as tough as other long days.

L' Auberge de la Fontaine
We arrived at about 8pm.
A beer and a nice meal sitting outside. There are geese wandering around the village that have a little house by the river.
