The plan today was to cover 30km to Champlitte so we had breakfast and were out by 8. We got a couple of stamps from the very helpful B&B before we left.
Chalindrey ended and we entered woodland which continued all morning.
It was warm but shaded and we made good time.
We had a lunch of leftovers in Grenant. It has some nice houses, but many, far more than normal, seemed empty or abandoned. Nice tractors though.
We crossed the river Salon and followed it all afternoon, crossing it a number of times.
Today's date: 10.7.20
Weather: sunny with some light cloud
Steps: 39,100
Distance: 27.66 km
Climbing: 220 m
The countryside was full of wooded hills and fields. The soil has changed to a browny red colour. There were a few fields of sunflowers but most of the harvesting is done.
We filled up our bottles at the church in Leffond and walked the last few km into Champlitte on the road.
Some cows had escaped onto the road to greet Mrs Melezet.

Camping Champlitte
A really friendly and quirky campsite on the edge of town.

There was a big sign as we arrived that said 'bar/resto closed Mondays'. We had no food so decided to walk on to a local hotel.
After a lot of calling we established that both local hotels were closed today, as were the restaurants. The campsite took pity on us and said they could manage 2 salads at 6pm, which suited us just fine. We felt very lucky sitting in a restaurant opened just for us. And a short day tomorrow with accomodation already sorted. Good day!

The campsite is quiet and we have pitched in 'Place du Farniente' and taken over the hammock and chairs.
