Sutri.

It rained heavily overnight and with another rainy day in prospect, our plan is just to set off and see how far we get.
By chance we passed a sports shop on the walk to the bus stop and the journey of the faithful 2000 km boots came to an end. The paths today were muddy and wet, so boots without holes and some tread were probably a wise move.
We caught the bus to Capranica, had breakfast with a dog called Roger and set off.
It rained heavily off and on all day, but we were under tree cover in a deep gorge all morning. It was a fantastic path full of fallen trees and dodgy bridges across the muddy stream.
Today's date: 15.10.20
Weather: stormy showers
Steps: 31,635
Distance: 23.47 km
Climbing: 596 m
We had lunch in Sutri which had a well-preserved amphitheatre and necropolis, but which also had confusing signage so we actually left the village on three different paths before finally finding the right one.
The walk in the afternoon was a bit dull and it continued to rain, so we settled on Monterosi as our finish for the day.
We got a stamp in a bar and spent an age struggling to find a place to stay. In the end we just caught the bus to a suburb of Rome as we could be sure of a bed.
Hotel Fleming - Municipio XV Rome
A big modern hotel. We felt too tired to eat but forced ourselves to eat a sandwich from a nearby bar.
